Oregon passed the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (“OCPA”)
Oregon has passed the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (“OCPA”). It will take effect on July 1, 2024. With the passing of this new law, Oregon becomes the eleventh state to enact a consumer data privacy law.
The OCPA does not authorize any rulemaking, which means we are not awaiting implementing regulations or further exemptions or carve-outs from the State or AG. There is an amendment that will go into effect on July 1, 2025, which affects only non-profits and extends the...
