The Connecticut Data Privacy Act (“CTDPA”) was revised in early June by the Connecticut legislature to include protections for health data and minors. The Public Act No. 23-56, was signed by the governor on June 26, 2023. The effective date for the health data amendments will be July 1, 2023, and the amendments covering minors will be effective in July and October 2024.
The CTDPA health data and minor protection amendments will require attention by organizations who are subject to the new provisions. General marketing players can largely ignore these amendments.
