Privacy Commissioner of Canada Philippe Dufresne used his opening keynote address at the IAPP Canada Privacy Symposium 2024 to announce his office was launching an investigation with the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office into the October 2023 breach of genetic testing company 23andMe. Dufresne also provided general updates into other ongoing OPC investigations while sharing his perspective on the work ahead toward the OPC's 2024-2027 strategic plan.
