Who Enforces the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CPRA”)?
The CCPA authorized the California Attorney General the enforcement authority. The CPRA granted the California Privacy Protection Agency “full administrative power, authority, and jurisdiction to implement and enforce” the CCPA as amended by the CPRA but the Attorney General still retains enforcement powers.
