Oregon Data Broker
The Oregon Governor signed HB 2052 into law on July 27, 2023, regulating the registration, collection, sale, or licensing of businesses that qualify as data brokers. The new data broker law, effective January 1, 2024, requires data brokers to annually register with the Department of Consumer and Business Services, with potential additional rules and registration costs. The Oregon Act prohibits data brokers from collecting, selling, or licensing broken personal data within the state without first registering with the Department of Consumer and Business Services.
