Label for Email Messages Containing Sexually Oriented Material (April 19, 2004)

The FTC released a final rule for Label for Email Messages Containing Sexually Oriented Material

April 19, 2004

The FTC is seeking feedback on a proposed rule for marking commercial emails that contain sexually oriented material. Directed by the CAN-SPAM Act, the Commission aims to establish a clear, identifiable mark to be included with such emails within a specified timeframe. This Notice of Proposed Rulemaking invites public input on the requirement to display this mark on relevant commercial emails, underlining the Commission's regulatory responsibilities outlined in the Act.
