The New York Times reports the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled Google needs to allow developers to bring their own app stores to Android phones as part of a remedy to fix its anticompetitive nature. The court ruled Google violated antitrust law by charging high fees and forcing developers, including Epic Games, to follow strict rules to put their apps on its phones.Full story
Since Brazil's General Data Protection Law entered into force in 2020, the country's data protection authority, the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, has "issued several regulations and guidelines that are shaping an authentic Brazilian data protection regime, marked by its own specificities," Peck Advogados Attorney Jean Carlo Jacichen Luz, CIPM, CDPO/BR, writes.
