Study explores Americans' encounters with cyber scams

Consumer Reports, Aspen Digital and the Global Cyber Alliance's Consumer Cyber Readiness Report found nearly half of the more than 4,000 respondents have personally experienced a cyberattack or digital scam. The report also found digital scams disproportionately affect communities of color with 33% of Black Americans and 30% of Hispanic consumers having lost money in phishing scams or data breaches.

Bermuda's privacy commissioner calls for feedback on financial services regulations

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda is seeking feedback on a draft report that details how the Personal Information Protection Act interacts with financial institutions' privacy obligations. Stakeholders have until 18 Oct. to "identify any areas of potential inconsistency or gaps which may need to be addressed to ensure that both legislative and regulatory regimes complement each other."Full story

Last-minute legislative decisions shape California's AI, privacy regimes
