The Illinois First District Appellate Court ruled Apple's face and fingerprint identification tools do not violate the state's Biometric Information Privacy Act, Bloomberg reports. In its reasoning, the court said the features are voluntary, data is stored locally on individuals' own devices and is not collected or stored by Apple on separate servers.
