Italy's DPA opens training data probe 

Italy's data protection authority, the Garante, announced an investigation into the data collection practices for algorithm training. The probe covers public and private entities and aims to "verify the adoption of suitable security measures to prevent the massive collection (webscraping) of personal data." Ransomware attack compromises Canadian government employee data

Ransomware group LockBit claimed responsibility for data breach that stole 1.5 terabytes of data from Canadian government employees, SC Magazine reports. The Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat said it is working to identify specific employees affected, however, any employee who used two specific government contractors since 1999 could have had their data compromised.

Adtech industry, personalized advertising in EU DPAs' sights
