California Delete Act signed into law

Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., added to California's privacy regime by signing Senate Bill 362, the Delete Act, into law 10 Oct. The new law requires data brokers operating in the state to register and commit to transparency standards while the California Privacy Protection Agency will enforce the law and devise a one-stop-shop mechanism for opt-outs by 1 Jan. 2026.
