Utah state auditors voice concerns about health data screening forms

State auditors in Utah expressed concerns to a legislative committee regarding how the state Office of Vital Records and Statistics processes birth registration information, Fox 13 Salt Lake City reports. The agency offers new mothers a voluntary 43-question worksheet with their newborn's personal health information that is then shared with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Auditors raised the issue that sharing the health data obtained from the worksheets with the CDC was not disclosed transparently with mothers.

Google's generative artificial intelligence tool Bard will not debut in the EU until the company satisfies privacy concerns raised by Ireland's Data Protection Commission, Politico reports. Deputy Commissioner Graham Doyle said the regulator "had not had any detailed briefing nor sight of a data protection impact assessment" from Google ahead of Bard's anticipated rollout.
