US senator introduces Small Business Cyber Resiliency Act

U.S. Sen. Jim Risch, R-Idaho, introduced a bill seeking to improve access to cybersecurity tools and resources for small businesses. Israel's PPA publishes draft guidance on board privacy obligations

Israel's Privacy Protection Authority published public comment draft guidelines on the role of board of directors' in fulfilling privacy protection obligations. The PPA said the guidance "applies to companies whose processing of personal information is at the core of their activity and to companies whose activity creates an increased risk to privacy." Judge rules Meta must face class action over medical privacy

U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Senior District Judge William Orrick ruled a class-action lawsuit claiming Meta Platforms violated U.S. wiretap law and California privacy law could move forward, Reuters reports. The lawsuit claims the privacy of patients treated by hospitals and medical providers using Meta's pixel tracking tool was violated.

Google's APIs for its Privacy Sandbox now the default setting for developers

Google announced APIs for its Privacy Sandbox are now "generally available" for users as a default feature, The Verge reports. The feature, which is the company's privacy-preserving solution for phasing out third-party cookies, allows Chrome developers to replace cookies with APIs. However, Google said 3% of Chrome users will still use a browser with embedded cookies for "A/B tests" to be conducted.Full story
