Japan's PPC publishes results of proposed APPI revisions consultation
Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission released a report on the feedback it received on potential amendments to the Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Citing the newly released IAPP Organizational Digital Governance Report 2024, 80% of privacy teams have expanded their work in additional areas like artificial intelligence and data governance. Mastercard Chief Privacy and Data Responsibility Officer Caroline Louveaux said privacy officers often face varying, and sometimes competing, demands as new privacy and data laws emerge.

The IAB Tech Lab unveiled its "Privacy Taxonomy," which is available for public comment until 5 Oct.
