UK, US sanction alleged hackers for role in 14-year campaign
The U.S. Department of Justice unsealed an indictment against seven alleged Chinese state-backed hackers, charging them with a 14-year campaign that targeted foreign critics, businesses and politicians, The Washington Post reports. In conjunction with the indictment, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued sanctions on two of the alleged hackers, as well as the front company that facilitated their ability to breach critical U.S. infrastructure.
